I purchased these deck boots for use at work, I had been using the fishing supply store generic white calf high boots, I decided I wanted something lower cut and more comfortable. Because I have size 14 wide feet I was pleased to find these in my size. Currently I've only used them once but they are quite comfortable and they have great tread on the bottom.
My son is a marine mechanic and avid fisherman. He works 50 hours a week and then fishing as a sport. After "blowing" out all the other boat shoes (he was going through a pair every 3 months) we decided to try these. He also has flat feet, so needed to put orthotics into the boat shoes. It was love at first try. He wore them out of the box, every day, all day, in all seasons, snow, wind, rain and now even in the summer. He has had them for a year, I just bought him a second pair, not because the first wore out, because he wanted a second pair on hand just in case something happened with the first. He also has skinny ankles, and he felt he could either tuck in long underwear (winter) or in the summer they stay close to his ankles so water doesn't pour in. Additionally, we live in NY, the docks get icy, but he has managed to stay upright in these all winter. Definitely recommend.
