Stops the bugs, sheds light rain, front pockets seal nicely, and packs nice and small. Fabric is neither soft nor harsh sort of like some packs are made. Not an issue for me. Breathable if not too strenuous. Used it kayaking in buggy area and performed well.

Definitely stops mosquito bites. However, not the best thing to wear on hot muggy days. Still, I would wear this regardless of the weather to keep from getting bug bites
