Great for Rain

Bought this for rainy hike and it was very waterproof. Only complaint is that the inside strings keep getting caught on the Velcro when the coat is worn open.

Good quality, style didn't work for me

The style and cut of this jacket was too boxy for me. The adjustable waist just seemed to bunch everything up. I am short 5' and I ordered the petite and Iappreciated the jacket and sleeve length. Also the shoulders fit well. I find it difficult to find a waterproof jacket in petite sizes, so I was very excited to find several styles available at Lands End. I returned and I will order another style and hope it looks better.

Sizing is an issue

I’m on the fence with this coat. Sizing is the biggest issue. I bought an XL, XXL and 1X. All have their problems. I am 5’3” with a full curvy shape. The XL didn’t have enough room in the fanny or extra room for layering underneath. The XXL had ample room everywhere (almost too much) and the shoulders were way too large as well as the arm length being about 6” too long. The 1X was still much more roomy but still felt big overall. What I really need is a petite in the coat, something with much shorter arms and narrower shoulders. It’s disappointing that the sizing differences between the XL and the XXL is so drastically different. It’s like it went up 3 sizes instead of just 1 and why do the arms keep getting longer as the sizing goes up? And why don’t all clothing manufacturers make petite sizing in all their products? Most people aren’t “regular” sizing.

Runs on the large side

The jacket is a good weight, no lining, other than the mesh which is perfect for my needs. Double zipper which is great as I want this for bike riding so can undo at the bottom of the jacket. All the pockets have zipper closures, the sleeves are velcro closures which will keep wind and any moisture out. I like the overlap on the closure which again makes the closure wind proof. The ONLY criticism I have is that the size runs on the large size. I generally take a 3X but I think I could have ordered a 2X.. But I will keep it because I know I can easily fit a hoodie or sweat shirt under it for warmth. I got the safari colour, it is a light sage green.
