Firm sole for pain free activities

My doctor recommended I get shoes with stiffer firmer soles, because all my soft light sole recreational wear, work and casual event shoes were causing my foot pain issues. I noticed my two other Columbia hiking shoes with firm soles, did not give me foot issues. But I needed a firm hiking shoes that esthetically looked appropriate for work, casual and informal outings. The Transverse Hike Low WP Shoe was the answer. Comfortable fit for a firm sole. No pain, even when standing for long periods. The black color can slyly work for any casual event and even some semi-formal one (as long as it's not after romping around the dirt). I expect this shoe to last and be worth it the purchase.

Q: How is the toe box? Narrow or roomy?

A: Great question! Running at a standard width, you would find the toe box being more on the narrow standard size. For a roomier, extended fit in the toe box we recommend one of our many "Wide" sized footwear styles!
