I actually ordered these to go kayaking and then walk through a rocky and sandy river we were swimming in. I have plantar fasciitis so I always need good supportive shoes. These performed fantastically. Firstly, for kayaking, it was nice to dip my feet in the water to cool them down but I could literally see the water flow through the drains, that's how well it drained. Then when I was going through the river, they held onto my feet super well. No slipping and sliding in the shoe, even without socks. The laces stayed tied. And most importantly they were comfortable. I wish I would have found them sooner.

Dries quickly, seem well made. I've only taken them out on a short trip but they handled some creek wading just fine. They seem to not collect gravel as badly as previous versions

Q: Is the tongue of the shoe connected to the upper for its entire length? If not, sand gets around the tongue and into the shoe.
