this hat meets most of the requirements for me. Pros: remarkably higher quality when compared objectively: a) materials: waterproof and durable easily 10yrs if cared properly. 2) design: form fitting-2 adjustment belts, visor helps in snow and sleet conditions. 3) pricing: when compared to lifetime value. Cons: structure: 1) wished it had a baseball cap like soft yet un-collapsible structure. during windy conditions it hold-ups heat and keeps an air pocket between head and hat. 2) This goes with point 1, where inner-lining should have been stitched to the outer shell and keeping better insulation and retain hair style with out rubbing against the hair, or maybe in some cases hair fall due to rubbing and friction (long shot, but still a possibility) since this hat could be worn for hours while doing outdoor activities. Simple hack will be to do a single stitch of the inner-lining to the outer shell where the different outer shell joints meet at the corners. Should hold up the lining, will update on this once done and tested. yet, this has a lot of potential and serves the purpose.

This is one of these items that you may not need, but you definitely want to have. Isn't it beautiful? I believe I'm going to use it for sleeping while camping, since it is quite warm where I live. I tried already at home and fells quite cozy.
Was looking for a hat that cover my ears. Searching Columbia web site and found the hat just what I was looking for.

A: Great question! With the intention of layering underneath, we would recommend a size L/XL to ensure the most proper fit. Let us know if you have any additional questions,
