Perfect Heavy Rain Jacket
Great heavy rain shell. I've used this in a good bit of heavy storms while commuting and it's a great jacket. No water gets in. The membrane and the seals are bulletproof, great outer shell material. Handles heavy rain perfectly The one thing I love about these outdry jackets is that the membrane is on the outside, so it doesn't wet out, unlike other gortex or PU jackets I have, it's nice that I don't have a loopy and drenched outside layer. So if I need to stuff it away when indoors, the inside of my bag doesn't get all wet. It also has pit vents which is always a great feature. The pit vents also are well placed so the water that beads off doesn't go inside the jacket from the open vents. The only downside I can think of is the weight and breathability. It feels more of a heavier jacket, not super heavy but almost shell-like weight. I have some other jackets like my mammut jackets that are not heavy and feel like they breath better. So if I'm hiking with it, I wouldn't really use it. For commuting however, the weight and breathability is no problem.
