Runs generous don't size up!

I will start by saying I am NOT a shorts girlie. I am around a size 16 with short thick legs and a long torso. I bought these for an upcoming Hawaii trip as I was advised to bring shorts for various activities. I cautiously ordered these and chose an xxl because I was afraid they'd cling. Now that they've arrived, I can confidently say that I should not have sized up. They are generously sized and allow more than enough room for the tummy and thighs. Good thing they have a draw string!

Sizing is wayyyyy off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this item about a month ago and was extremely disappointed in how far off the sizing guide was. I ended up needed an X-small and even that was still slightly big. Haven’t tested them in the water yet.
