Good for light winter days without snow or rain

I bought this as a light winter jacket to reduce wear on my parka. In general I'm happy with it. It fits well, but can be slightly too tight if I've got a big sweater on underneath. It keeps me plenty warm on windy nights down to -5, maybe down to -10 if I've got a good sweater on underneath. My biggest problem is that it's not waterproof or water resistant at all. Light snow will eventually soak in, as will even the slightest drizzle of rain after a few minutes. Once the jacket gets wet it becomes mostly useless at keeping me warm and comfortable. So I can only use it on days without any precipitation at all.
