Tight in the thighs but too loose in the waist

I usually wear a size 12 or 14 in pants and found the XL too tight in the thighs but too loose in the waist (the velcro cinching was nice but not enough for me). I think these would be better for someone with a smaller waist to hip ratio (for me there's about a 10 inch difference in waist and hips).
too small tho my measurements fit the size chart.

when I saw that the model's measurements fit the S sizing but she was in fact wearing a medium, I nearly ordered the medium which I generally do. Instead, I followed the size chart and ordered a small which was way too small around my 29" waist and a bit tight on my 36" hips. I see now that everything is out of stock, and I would very much. have liked to have these in the correct size.Not only that, but I have to pay return shipping for something that is not my fault.
