The size it's I would say quite fit to my to my arms, it is not a loose fit. I initially thought that they might cause me pain given it felt really tight on my forearm like compression style basically and being honest living in Florida I was doubtful about whether this compression would actually help or making me more sweaty. I have tested them now and I confidently say that I didn't feel sweaty, I wish they could be made a bit more loose in the forearm area but obviously that has to do with the cooling technology which needs to be close to the skin, so I understand that factor but perhaps for the future Columbia could consider kind of compression approach versus sun comfy protection approach which w would be more like a loose style. generally speaking the size is just right to myself I don't have really thick biceps, I would say I'm on the fit slim side so if you have big biceps ,it's not going to help you particularly for men .I ordered a small / medium size and I would suggest if you have kind of chubby arm you will have to size up
