I liked my first pair of these boots enough that I bought them a second time. I wore these during work as a wildlife biologist and my first pair got roughed up by the strenuous activity (my own fault for not caring for the leather better, to be fair) but the waterproofing worked great and the boots were very comfortable, even keeping my feet warm during overnight tasks in the winter up in the mountains.

1st, let me say - i will be purchasing another pair of these a) waterproof 5/5 - wore in rain and walked through puddles over the toes - on purpose - perfect! b) stylish 4.5/5 though you mileage my differ :) - c) grip on wet floors and grip design for hiking - both top notch d) comfort ... okay.. the only down side - they came with a very flimsy 1/16th in insole. So, felt like i was walking on the ground - thats good for those who want that feeling. i took the sole out of my buggaboot II i replaced - that thing was built for serious hiking -its maybe 1/2" cushion. Dang, when i put that in, this boot because a 7/5! Columbia - pay attention to this! this is the only drawback that felt a little 'cheap' or at least ignored. Put the serious bugaboot insole in this shoe - it deserves it. Hopefully i can buy another bugaboot insole from Columbia to go inside my new purchase.

A comfortable boot with good ankle support. Past experience with a Columbia shoe was very positive, lasting much longer than some other shoes I've had over the years. Break-in only took a couple of days until they became molded to my feet. I don't care much about color or "fashion", but these are functional and do the job demanded of them.

I absolutely love my boots; this is the third pair I have purchased. Their quality is outstanding. I own both colors of this same model, and I use them almost every day because I ride a motorcycle. Over the past year, it has rained a lot where I live, and the fact that they are waterproof is the best feature. It makes me choose them over any other footwear I own. I love them.

A: Great question! Through extensive use and breaking in the leather of these Boots, we recommend using a traditional leather oil which hydrates and restores worn leather material. This can be applied with a rag across all leather areas of this Boot to maximize the life of the material. Options can be found at most footwear retailers, we can also assist via our Customer Care with proper care!
