This bag will hold essentials for a day trip or easy hike. It has the capacity to hold a water bottle inside, though lacks a specific pocket or strap for one. The inner zippered pocket is helpful for securing money / bank cards / passport, and the outer zippered pocket allows quick access for things like lip balm and hand sanitizer. The fabric is a bit stiffer and sturdier than I expected, which means it should hold up well though many uses. In my opinion, the bag feels somewhat bulky even when there is very little inside, but this perception may be mainly due to my small body frame.
