Plastic odor that does not go away

I bought this during Christmas, and from the day one the boots have some odor which I thought it was because they were in the box for a while. Well, the odor has never gone away, and I tried to clean the inside a couple of times and the odor is still there, the boots are perfect for the winter but not sure how to get rid of the odor!
